At least 3 dead in West Ridge fire

At least three people were reported dead overnight in an extra-alarm fire on the North Side in the West Ridge neighborhood, fire officials said.

Shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday, police and firefighters responded to a fire at an apartment complex in the 7000 block of North Rockwell Street where a fire broke out in the rear of a four-story apartment building, officials said.

The Chicago Fire Department said the scene was still active. Check back for more details.
