HAMILTON TOWNSHIP — A Buena woman died Wednesday night after she was struck by a vehicle as she attempted to walk across the Black Horse Pike, police said.
Debbie Rice, 56, of Pittsgrove, Salem County, was driving a 2021 Hyundai Tucson west in the right lane of the pike near Custard Castle when she hit Deserie Cincotti, 48, at 7:38 p.m., police said Thursday in a Facebook post. There were no crosswalks where Cincotti tried to cross.
Cincotti was pronounced dead at the scene. Rice was uninjured, police said.
A portion of the road was closed for several hours while police investigated.
