QUINCY (WGEM) - The Quincy Public Schools School Board is embarking on a multi-phase superintendent search, as revealed during a special board meeting Wednesday, Oct. 8.

The search comes after Superintendent Todd Pettit and two Denman Elementary teachers were suspended with pay back in August.

Pettit later signed a separation agreement with the board.

The board is partnering with Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates (HYA) — an agency specializing in superintendent searches.

The contract with HYA will cost the district $17,000.

Board members want to be conservative with their spending during the search, but most importantly, they want to find the right candidate.
