Miami Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra has been tapped as the new head of the USA Men’s Basketball Team. Spoelstra will replace current coach Steve Kerr in the lead seat. Spoelstra will serve during the 2026 World Cup and the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. Shams Charania broke the news this morning.

Spoelstra has coached the Heat for 17 seasons after spending 11 as an assistant coach and scout. He has a 787-572 cumulative record in the regular season, 110-83 in the playoffs.
