HOUSTON (KIAH) -- Kim Son Restaurant downtown is closing to make way for more downtown traffic.
Last October 2024, a new project called the North Houston Highway Improvement Project was introduced as an effort to improve drainage in the city. Construction would impact I-45, I-69, I-10 and State Highway 288. It alarmed small communities and businesses along these routes that need to make way for the need for bigger highways to accommodate more local traffic for Houston's growing population.
According to TXDOT, the project was created in order to' improve I-45 from Beltway 8 to I-10, and reroute I-45 through the downtown Houston area along I-10 and US 59/I-69.'
