HOUSTON (CW39) - Did you know that Black women have a higher risk of developing and dying from breast cancer compared to other racial groups? That's according to the National Institute of Health and Mass General Brigham.
According to the American Cancer Society, Black women have a 20% higher risk of developing breast cancer than white women. Black women also are twice as likely to die from breast cancer as white women. The question is, Why?
Now a new study, hopes to find that answer and more, in order to save lives. The American Cancer Society has created a study called "Voices of Black Women".
The ACS is asking Black women "ages 25-55 who have never been diagnosed with cancer – to use your VOICE to change the future of cancer as we know it." They are hoping to sign up as many as 100,00
