LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - An executive order was posted to the front door of the Shelby County courthouse annex Thursday morning.

The building that houses the offices of the County Clerk was closed because of a “bed bug infestation.”

“A few days ago, there was a spotting of a critter,” Shelby County Clerk Tony Harover said.

That “critter” turned out to be a bedbug.

How it got there, no one knows.

An exterminator was called in to spray, but another bed bug was discovered Thursday morning.

“They sprayed it and we thought we were free and clear,” Harover said. “Spotted another one this morning when I got to the office.”

It was then decided that the entire Shelby County courthouse annex needed to be fumigated.
