AUSTIN, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock announced today he will distribute $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for October.

According to the comptroller’s office, Hancock sent cities, counties, transit systems, and special-purpose districts $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for October, 3.9% more than in October 2024.

Hancock’s office said, “These allocations are based on sales made in August by businesses that report tax monthly.”

According to the Texas Comptroller’s website, Amarillo is set to receive over $9 million, and the city of Canyon is set to receive $418,062.67.
