ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - A new business in Roanoke is giving people more than just a cup of coffee. Canvas & Coffee , which recently opened on Grandin Road, combines a café with an art studio, creating a space where the community can gather, relax and express themselves creatively.

“I love coffee, and I love art myself, said Sarah Duran-Ballen, owner of Canvas & Coffee.

The café is designed to be accessible for everyone, whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the first time or just stopping by for a latte.

Guests only pay for the canvas; paint, brushes and aprons are included.

Those looking for a fun twist can take advantage of the café’s “artsy combos,” which pair a drink or food item with a painting session — similar to a traditional meal combo.
