SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -- A Midstate marching band is about to have what leaders described as its biggest performance in nearly a half-century.

Shippensburg University's band has been practicing to perform this coming Monday in Philadelphia at a parade celebrating the 250th birthday of both the U.S. Navy and Marines.

"Pretty pumped," said Trever Famulare, director of bands. "I think the aspect of performing in what I'll call a different genre than we're normally used to, I mean we do parades but this is more on a national and even international scale now. We haven't done one of these in my tenure here."
