One man was killed and a second was left badly hurt after a shooting outside of a Chickie's & Pete's in South Philadelphia on Thursday evening, according to a spokesperson with the police department.

The shooting happened around 6:12 p.m. on Oct. 9 at the intersection of Broad Street and Packer Avenue, police said.

When officers got to the scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest, police explained. He was taken to a nearby hospital by medics where he was pronounced dead around 6:48 p.m.
