CAMP POINT, Ill. (WGEM) - Camp Point residents have two additions to Bailey Park to look forward to by the end of the year.
A new shelter house will be constructed and demolition of the old one has already begun.
It will be built on the site of the old one, next to the other shelter house currently standing.
“This will be one of the huge staples,” said Jared Eicken, member of Bailey Park Board. “Everyone seems like they want to rent it out for family reunions and birthday parties.”
Twelve new trees will also be planted across the park, to help revamp some of the trees the park has lost recently.
“We’ve lost a lot of trees over the past several years due to storm or disease,” said Abby Bastert, member of Friends of Bailey Park Board.
