KEAAU, Hawaii (Island News) -- A man is facing charges after police arrested him following a burglary at a home in Keaau.

Albert Espaniola, Jr., 47, was arrested and charged in connection to a burglary in Keaau that took place on Wednesday, Oct. 8. Puna officers arrested the suspect after he was seen leaving the back door of the house on Old Volcano Road carrying a compound bow with attached fishing reel and an internet router.

Espaniola appeared in Hilo District Court on Thursday, Oct. 9, where his bail was set at $120,000. He is scheduled to return for a preliminary hearing on Monday, Oct. 13.

He is facing first-degree burglary and second-degree theft charges.

If Espaniola is convicted as charged, he could serve either a 10-year prison sentence or four years probation and up to 18 mo
