HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) - A woman was rescued from a three-story brick apartment building in Hartford early Friday morning.

Hartford firefighters said a fire broke out on Niles Street in the city’s Asylum Hill neighborhood.

“Firefighters arrived to find active fire in a third floor apartment,” said District Chief Mario Oquendo Jr., Hartford Fire Department. “Crews acted swiftly to bring the fire under control and successfully rescued one adult female from the affected unit.”

The fire was contained to one apartment.

No injuries were reported.

“The rescued individual was treated on scene for possible smoke inhalation and transported to a local hospital for further evaluation,” Oquendo said.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation by the Hartford Fire Marshal’s Office.
