The Forum's list of the weekend’s top events being played in the metro area.

The Metro Volleyball Invitational high school volleyball tournament is set for Friday, Oct. 10, and Saturday, Oct. 11, at Fargo North, Fargo South and Fargo Davies high schools.

The 24-team field features varsity teams from across North Dakota along with Aberdeen Central out of South Dakota.

The field will be split into six different pools — four teams each — with the top two teams in each pool advancing to “gold” bracket play on Saturday at Davies High. The remaining 12 teams will advance to the “silver” bracket, which will be played at North High.

All matches will be best two-of-three. The first two sets will be played two 25 points with a third playing to 15 points.
