WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) - A late Thursday night fire broke out at an abandoned property in the City of Watertown.

According to the City of Watertown Fire Department, crews were dispatched just before 11 p.m. Thursday to 424 Newell Street.

The building was the home of the old Hudson River Rafting Co. Fire personnel arrived on the scene to find the building fully engulfed by fire.

The building had recently been boarded up, which made it more challenging to get water on the blaze.

There were no injuries in the fire, and no fire personnel were hurt. The cause of the fire has not been released.

Watertown Police and City Codes also assisted on the scene.
