STATESVILLE — Powerlifter and Pembroke native Harold “Iron Bear” Collins will be inducted into the 365 Strong Hall of Fame on Saturday as part of this weekend’s 365 Strong World Powerlifting Games in Statesville.
The Hall of Fame ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Statesville Civic Center, 300 South Center Street in Statesville.
Collins is a member of the Lumbee Tribe and the self-proclaimed “World’s Strongest Native American.” He reached the World’s Strongest Man finals in 1993 and 1997, finishing sixth in 1993. He is a two-time U.S. Powerlifting Federation national champion and a two-time International Powerlifting Federation world championships bench press bronze medalist.
He has set six Guinness World Records during his lifetime.
The 365 Strong World Powerlifting
