CHAPEL HILL — Four Robeson County high school girls tennis teams earned dual-team state playoff bids when the North Carolina High School Athletic Association released brackets on Friday. First-round matchups are scheduled for Monday.

In 7A, Lumberton earned the No. 7 seed in the East Region and has a first-round bye. The Pirates will host the winner of No. 10 Wake Forest and No. 23 Smithfield-Selma in Wednesday’s second round.

Purnell Swett will play in the 7A West Region — with regional assignments no longer predetermined but now based on the 24 easternmost and 24 westernmost teams who qualified for the playoffs; the Rams are the No. 21 seed and will head to No. 12 Cuthbertson for Monday’s first round. The winner will advance to face No. 5 Cox Mill.
