BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Join the fun celebration of everything apple goodness, Kern County's oldest apple festival is returning to downtown Tehachapi this Saturday, Oct. 11.

The Tehachapi Apple Festival is returning with several nostalgic events such as having an apple bobbing game, pie eating contest, baking contest, and Miss Apple Fest Pageant. However, for Lorena Semenenko, her favorite part is bringing the community together.

Plus, with over 70 vendors and thousands of people attending yearly festival organizers created a new program, Patch Passport and discount cards, to help support local small businesses.

Starting at 8 a.m., the Tehachapi Apple Festival begins with a 5k run followed by the festival running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
