12-year-old charged after fleeing police in stolen pickup

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) - New York State Police have charged a 12-year-old boy after he tried to escape police in a stolen pickup.

It happened Tuesday evening. Malone Police reported the stolen vehicle, and troopers later spotted it turning onto Route 22 in the Town of Plattsburgh.

When police tried to stop the driver, they say he sped away, leading to a pursuit.

The driver was eventually pulled over and identified as a 12-year-old boy from Malone.

He was charged with unlawfully fleeing a police officer.
