LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Nebraska Wesleyan announced a series of layoffs due to budgetary issues on Thursday.

According to Nebraska Wesleyan President Darrin Good, a number of college and universities are facing difficulties due to declining enrollment, rising costs and funding challenges.

Recently, Nebraska Wesleyan eliminated 14 part-time and full-time positions as part of budget reductions. Three other positions had a reduction to their hours. Each employee, whose position was eliminated, was offered severance and continued health insurance for a period of time.
