WASHINGTON — Monday night, the Commanders will take on the Chicago Bears at Northwest Stadium. Starting at quarterback for Chicago is a homegrown talent from the DMV.

Caleb Williams was the number one overall draft pick in 2024, the only player preceding the Commanders own Jayden Daniels, but Williams' rise to fame started in D.C. at Gonzaga College High School.

His high school coach, Randy Trivers, is still at the helm of the Purple Eagles. The proud coach has celebrated every one of Williams' accomplishments along the way.

“It never gets old," Trivers said. "Sometimes I have to remind myself how special that is, how uniquely special, and to be grateful to have that experience with another person and continue to watch that growth and development.”
