COLUMBUS, Ohio — A popular Mount Vernon restaurant known for its tacos and tight-knit customer base is closed following an immigration enforcement operation.

Panchos Tacos, normally bustling during lunch hours, shut its doors Thursday after the city of Mount Vernon said Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents raided the business. A sign now hangs on the gate reading, "Closed until further notice."

It remains unclear how many individuals were detained during the raid.

Customers stopped by Friday in hopes of finding the restaurant open or offering their support.

“People are friendly, the service is good, food is good and prices are good,” said Michael Mosher, a regular customer. “I stopped today to offer my support and see how everybody was and they were closed today.”
