RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A man will spend nearly two decades in prison after he shot a Henrico County driver during a "road rage" incident in late 2024, putting that driver in the hospital for months.

On Nov. 24, 2024, then-40-year-old Calvin W. Carter, Jr. of Henrico was shot while driving on Interstate 64 in Richmond. The shooting left him in critical condition.

As a result of his injuries, Carter spent months in the hospital and had portions of some organs removed.

The man who shot him, 28-year-old Jerrell Hill of Henrico, has been sentenced in connection with this crime, per a Friday, Oct. 10 press release from the Richmond Commonwealth's Attorney's Office.
