SPRINGFIELD, Ky. (FOX 56) — On Friday, Washington County deputies said a man from Springfield had been arrested after allegedly calling 911 dispatchers as many as 32 times in a single day, only to hang up or threaten line operators.

In a Facebook post, officials said Wade Mumford, 29, began repeatedly calling 911 on Sept. 14.

"These actions from Mumford tie up the 911 phone lines and are a serious disturbance to the safety of the people in Washington County," deputies explained.

Authorities alleged that Mumford occasionally called just to hang up, but would also scream at those on the other end of the phone.
