CHEYENNE — Within a day of Laramie County Sheriff’s deputies being certified by ICE to enforce immigration law, local advocate Carol Pascal received a call from immigrant workers seeking to leave the state.

“They had laid down their tools and told their boss they wanted to transfer to other jobs in Wellington and Fort Collins (Colorado) … rather than work here, based on this swearing in of the local sheriff’s department,” Pascal told the Wyoming Tribune Eagle.

The young men in question were roofers in Wyoming on work visas, according to Pascal.
