Twenty members of the Northwest Valley branch of the American Association of University Women recently visited Rio Salado College’s Surprise location to learn about the adult education classes and community outreach opportunities available to their students.

Members of the group — whose aim is to advance gender equity for women and girls through research, education and advocacy — took a tour of campus Sept. 29 and received a box lunch to conclude the visit.

“It was a wonderful opportunity to see what educational facilities we have in our own back yard,” the group wrote in a news release,

Membership in the AAUW branch is open to to anyone holding an associates, bachelor’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
