Good Saturday morning! We have a coastal low moving north up the east coast this weekend. This will bring us gusty winds, rain, moderate-major tidal flooding and ocean overwash.

The coastal low is in the process of forming off the Georgia/South Carolina coast this morning. As it's developing and tracking north, we are seeing a lot of cloud cover this morning, but staying mostly dry. Widespread rain will start to work its way into northeastern North Carolina after 12 PM today and enter into Virginia (starting with southside) around 5 PM today. By tonight, everyone will be dealing with the widespread rain from this system.

Overnight, rainfall will be moderate to heavy at times. The Outer Banks and mainland Dare County are under a Level 1 of 5 risk for severe storms late tonight/early Sunda
