A Minneapolis man has been found guilty on all counts in connection with a 2013 rape investigation cold case, with charges stemming from a DNA match made more than 10 years later.
On Thursday, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office announced that Mohamud Hillow Bulle, 36, had been convicted of two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of kidnapping in connection with the Oct. 13, 2013 incident.
The case was prosecuted by the attorney’s office’s Sexual Assault Kit Initiative team.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim told Minneapolis police that she had been out at an event when she became separated from her group. She was then approached by a man who offered her a cell phone.
