BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Voters in Louisiana area headed to the polls for the Saturday, October 11, election.
Polling places began welcoming voters at 7 a.m. and will stay open until 8 p.m. As long as you are in line by 8 p.m., you will be allowed to cast your vote.
According to the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office, eight parishes in the state have local races only on the ballot, 15 parishes have local propositions only on the ballet, and eight parishes have both local races and local propositions on the ballot.
Voters in East Baton Rouge Parish will be deciding on a person to fill a vacant seat at the 19th Judicial District Court. There is also a tax renewal on the ballot for the Downtown Development District. The tax renewal will last for five years and will generate around $740
