LUMBERTON — Thirty-two young men are now on campus. Their team has a nickname, the Diamond Eagles. They’ve played other competition in fall scrimmages. The Robeson Community College baseball program is now a reality.
The team came to the school to start the fall semester, bringing to life the vision that the program has been building since it was announced and even before.
And yet, the program doesn’t have the feel of a first-year organization — instead, it has the one of a well-oiled and established machine.
