From tablets to TikTok, screens are a constant presence in the lives of American children, and their parents are feeling the pressure. A new Pew Research Center report reveals that while most parents say managing screen time is a priority, nearly half admit they could be doing better.

The nationally representative survey of more than 3,000 U.S. parents of children ages 12 and under found that 86% have rules around screen use, but only 19% say they stick to those rules all the time. The struggle is especially pronounced among parents of older children, with 47% of those with kids ages 8 to 12 saying they could better manage screen time, the report says.
