TURNER, Maine — A man is recovering after being shot twice Friday night by an Androscoggin County Sheriff’s deputy during an attempted arrest in Turner.
Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Deputy Kurt Fegan was looking for Christopher Lebrun for an outstanding felony warrant, according to a social media post from the sheriff's office.
Fegan attempted to stop Lebrun around 10:15 p.m. after he was found on Plains Road, the post said. Lebrun reportedly failed to stop and was pursued by Fegan.
Lebrun apparently crashed into a tree near the intersection of North Main Street and General Turner Hill Road during the pursuit.
Fegan exited his car to confront Lebrun who also exited his car, according to the post. Lebrun allegedly point a gun at Fegan.
Lebrun was shot two times, the post said.
