The Florida Panthers‘ injury report is starting to fill up in a hurry.

Defenceman Dmitry Kulikov, who was placed on the injured reserve on Friday with an upper-body ailment, may have to undergo surgery, head coach Paul Maurice told reporters Saturday.

Kulikov suffered the injury in Thursday’s 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. He exited the game midway through the second period and did not return after going for a check on Flyers forward Bobby Brink.

He grabbed at his right wrist as he returned to the locker room after the play. He had logged 7:47 of ice time with one hit up to that point in the game.

The 34-year-old has been a solid bottom-pairing defenceman for the Panthers since joining them ahead of the 2023-24 season. In 70 games last year, he had four goals and nine assists.
