The Mounties struck first, but the Panthers responded to lead 10-6 at halftime.
After Western extended the lead early in the second half, Avery Anspaugh rushed in for a score to get Northwest back within three. The Mounties added another to lead 21-17 late in the third, and an 80-yard Roe DeDeaux touchdown made it 28-17 Mounties.
But the Panthers answered with a pair of scores late, getting their second win of the season in the process.
