ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The suspect wanted in a double shooting on a MARTA train in May has been arrested, authorities said Friday.

Around 6:15 a.m., MARTA police and members of an FBI Atlanta task force took Rico Williams into custody at a home in southwest Atlanta, according to the MARTA Police Department.

Williams is accused of shooting two men on a southbound train near the East Point MARTA station on May 18.

According to witnesses, an attempted theft led up to the shooting.

“The suspect was trying to steal or remove something from the victim’s bag, which was next to him in the seat,” MARTA Police Chief Scott Kreher sa
