A 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck Pakistan on Saturday evening, according to the national centre for seismology (NCS). The quake occurred at a shallow depth of 10 km, making the region susceptible to aftershocks. In a post on X, the NCS stated: “EQ of M: 5.0, On: 11/10/2025 20:23:57 IST, Lat: 31.19 N, Long: 71.04 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Pakistan.” No casualties or damage have been officially reported yet. However, shallow earthquakes - defined as those occurring at depths less than 70 km - can result in stronger ground shaking and are generally considered more hazardous due to their proximity to the Earth's surface.
