WASHINGTON, D.C. (KNWA/KFTA) — Richard "BigO" Barnett, the Gravette man who became a high-profile figure in the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot, has filed a motion asking a federal judge to return the restitution and fees he paid following his convictions.

Barnett, 65, turned himself into authorities a few days after the events on Jan. 6, 2021 after he was photographed entering Pelosi’s office, where he “left a note and removed some of the speaker’s mail.”. He was later convicted in January 2023 on multiple charges, including obstruction of an official proceeding and theft of government property.

In May 2023, he was sentenced to 54 months in prison. While serving his sentence, Barnett’s appeal was pending when President Donald Trump issued a pardon for offenses related to the Capitol
