DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The 55th Ohio Sauerkraut Festival is in full swing this weekend.

The massive festival is one of the largest in the Midwest and routinely has hundreds of thousands of attendees annually. It is held in downtown Waynesville and runs from Saturday, Oct. 11, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 12, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Over 450 craft vendors, from over 25 states, will be selling unique goods, handcrafted jewelry, art, décor and more.

There are almost 30 food booths, run by local nonprofit groups. Each with unique food options including sauerkraut pizza, German sundaes and kraut-infused desserts.

The event also highlights Waynesville itself, which refers to itself as the “Antiques Capital of the Midwest” and “A Storybook Town”.
