CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — While the Clarksburg YMCA may have shut it's doors in late September, the City of Clarksburg is working to ensure local swim teams will still have a place to practice and compete.
In a Facebook post published by the City of Clarksburg on Friday, it was announced that City Manager Tiffany Fell, the City Parks of Clarksburg Department and the Harrison County Board of Education have been working together to "evaluate the property and ensure continued access for local teams."
While no official reopening date has been announced, officials are "optimistic" that the pool will be ready before the season begins. The pool has also already been renamed to the Harry Green Aquatic Center.
Doug Comer, Superintendent of Parks, is feeling positive about the location's future.
