Big Spring’s Evyennia Raudenbush took bronze in the District 3 Class 2A girls tennis singles tournament on Saturday after a straight set victory over Fleetwood’s Erin Sonon 6-3, 6-3.
Top-seeded Paytyn Plank of Biglerville won the title 6-2, 6-3 over Sonon.
Raudenbush won her first two matches on Friday against Kutztown‘s Madelyn Maley (6-1, 6-0) and Wyomissing‘s Peyton Carlson (7-5, 7-5). She fell to No. 2 seed Serafima Billis of Lancaster Catholic in Saturday’s semifinals via a 6-4, 7-6(5) result.
Camp Hill’s Mia Schreader was defeated by Sonon in the opening round 4-6, 6-0, 7-5 on Saturday, while Bishop McDevitt’s Teagan Pardo bowed out in the first round to Annville-Cleona‘s Nia Hafey 6-1, 6-1.
