SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The Michiana Down Syndrome Family Support & Advocacy Group had an especially exciting annual Down Syndrome Festival & Walk today in a brand-new location.
In its 25th year, they held it for the first time ever at the Potawatomi Zoo, and the event was free to attend, and at least 600 people registered ahead of time.
This fundraiser ensures they can hold programs for families throughout the year.
In addition to donations and money earned from the silent auction, the group hopes they can bring the community together and raise awareness about down syndrome with events like these.
