OLATHE, Kan. -- A young Johnson County girl is making a difference for children in need by selling Halloween candy.

Nine-year-old Alexis Creed is behind the effort. Creed is selling festive ghost tootsie pops to help children experiencing homelessness.

“I am selling ghost tootsie roll pops for $1.50, and the money that I make goes to buy backpacks for homeless kids in the Johnson County area,” Creed explained.

She takes those items to the Health Partnership clinic. It serves as the medical home for people experiencing homelessness in Johnson County.

“She tries to give back to the community. When she heard there were 300 plus kids in the Johnson County area that were homeless, she went in and she talked to the health partners, and they told her exactly what kind of things they were need
