WARMINSTER – Owen Johnson experienced both ends of the punt return spectrum Saturday.

In the first quarter, the ball ticked off the La Salle sophomore’s hands then ricocheted away from him as he dove to recover it, allowing Bonner & Prendergast’s Antoine Coaxum to claim it and give possession back to the Friars at the Explorers’ 36-yard line.

“It was hard to track and then at the last moment it kind of went more forward,” Johnson said. “So I had to reach out and you should never have put your hands out.”

La Salle’s defense, however, did not allow Bonner to take advantage, the Explorers forcing a three-and-out to maintain their 7-0 lead in the Philadelphia Catholic League Red Division contest.
