GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) -The Gaston Point Recreation Center looked more like a science lab than a gym Saturday morning.
Instead of basketballs and volleyballs, the space was filled with beakers, robots, and curious young minds.
STEM Global Action hosted its monthly “Hands-On STEM” event, giving students from across Gulfport and Biloxi the chance to explore chemistry and technology in a fun, interactive way.
Kids tested pH levels, made slime, watched a 3D printer in action, interacted with a humanoid robot, and even saw elephant toothpaste explode.
Eight-year-old Karmyn Rawls said she enjoyed every bit of it.
“I love science. I’ve done some experiments before, but they weren’t as fun as these,” Rawls said “It was fun, and I like my new friends.”
