AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Amarillo Warbirds are giving local football talent a chance to suit up for their 2026 season, with open tryouts scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18 at Sam Houston Middle School.
Head coach Jermaine Blakely and the Warbirds organization are seeking players from the Texas Panhandle area who could bring their skills to the professional arena.
The tryouts represent an opportunity for local athletes to showcase their abilities and potentially earn a spot on the team’s roster.
The Warbirds are preparing for their 2026 season, which will begin March 13 against the Sioux City Bandits at the Amarillo Civic Center. The home opener marks the start of what will be the team’s campaign in the upcoming season.
