The three-story Greek Revival home at 521 Dauphine St., known as the Xiques Mansion, is on the market for $3,900,000, according to a Zillow listing .
Dating back to 1851, the mansion was constructed for Angel Xiques, a Spanish-born importer of Cuban products.
The residence would keep its Spanish roots, becoming the home of two Spanish consuls to New Orleans after Xiques' death.
However, it was the death of the second consul, Severino de la Barrera, in 1877 that would make the Xiques Mansion's story one of the most colorful in the city.
