Heads up if you're driving in Chicago on Sunday: Multiple streets will be closed as thousands participate in the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon.

Officials urge drivers to plan ahead and seek alternate routes as roads won't re-open until about 4:30 p.m.

Here's what to expect:

List of Chicago Marathon street closures

Street closures in the Grant Park area began on Sept. 25 with the closure of Balbo Drive from Columbus to DuSable Lake Shore Drive, which continue through Sunday.

Race-day street closures along the route began at approximately 6 a.m. on Sunday and are expected to reopen by 4:30 p.m., "or when it is deemed safe to do so," the city said.
