CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. (WCTV) - Dozens of people came out to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month on Saturday with an honorary walk at Azalea Park.
“Women’s health is everything to me,” Tamika Rich said. She is a retired medical professional, and said she attends multiple breast cancer events every October.
The event is hosted by the Florida Department of Health, and this is the third year of the awareness walk. Rich says in addition to bringing the community together, this walk sheds light on how breast cancer impacts many lives.
“Sometimes the diagnosis comes so suddenly, and so it can just devastate or change a family completely,” Rich said.
People attending Saturday’s walk had a chance to win raffle prizes, and enjoy music and food trucks, all to help spread awareness.
