Winnipeg is a city of over 850,000 residents — and today, our Fire Department has fewer firefighters than it did in the 1970s. That reality speaks for itself. Our population has grown significantly, emergency calls have multiplied (already exceeding projections from 2040), and the risks we face have become more complex.
